Sustainable communities

Iceni is currently planning new integrated sustainable communities in the South East, the South West, the East of England, the East Midlands, the North West and Yorkshire and the Humber. The nature of the projects vary in scale and complexity although one consistent feature which tends to be applicable to all the developments is the co-location of homes and employment opportunities together with new infrastructure to help create more sustainable patterns of development.

Many of the developments currently being promoted were first identified by Iceni. In such instances, Iceni uses a combination of demographic analysis, Council data on housing delivery and housing land availability and Iceni's own analysis of existing structural problems and land use planning failures. The schemes constitute long-term spatial solutions that correct existing problems and given the strategic nature and regional significance of these projects, they will often be promoted at the national and regional level, as well as at local level through Local Development Frameworks.
